Summer is a month of heat. In the book, summer is the month of tension. Gatsby is having his affair with Daisy, and finally it comes to a heated climax on a hotter day.Madinger 34
Autumn-
Autumn comes and everything cools down and with the cooling many things die. Following the seasons, the tensions between all of the characters cool in the story. Wealth is in the air. Money is all new here and pleas to be spent. West egg is the site of Gatsby’s Gaudy Mansion with its many parties and Nick also lives there.Madinger 33

The island of Old Money. Resting on the shore of this island is the Buchannan’s house. These houses are white palaces. Elegant and fashionable, the Buchannan’s host two parties that Nick attends. These parties are dull and nothing ever seems to be accomplished but pointless small talk.Madinger 47

Resting across the tracks from New York, the valley of ashes is under the shadow of the great city. Industry is what runs this area. The buildings surrounding it are dirty, run down, and represent the poor people living in them. The Valley is a depressing and worn out community.Madinger 50

Within this city secrets are hidden. With its immense size, nothing specific seems to be noticed. For this reason, Tom and Myrtle have their affair within the city. Also, it is in New York that the show down between Tom and Gatsby happens. Madinger 43

This city in Kentucky is where Gatsby and Daisy first met, and fell in love. Gatsby mentions that he wants to move back there with Daisy, once she realizes her love for him never faded.Madinger 36

Dan Cody's Boat-
This boat was what made James Ganz into Jay Gatsby. Gatsby learned all about new money. In addition, Gatsby saw the problems alcohol caused with Dan, which is why Gatsby never drank at his parties.Madinger 36
Gatsby's House-
Showing off his money, Gatsby bought one of the most outrageous houses to appeal to Daisy. His house hosted many parties where countless individuals came to get drunk, but the ultimate goal was to draw Daisy in. Eventually, this house hosted Gatsby and Daisy’s secret affair.Madinger 46
Nick’s Bungalow-
This small and not very expensive house that Nick lives in has one purpose in the whole book, Daisy and Gatsby’s meeting. Since it lacks the extravagantness, Gatsby wishes to show Daisy, Gatsby touches it up and fills it with his own expensive possessions to impress Daisy.Madinger 47
